Q1: Can I read the basic information of the file I loaded into ImTOO Audio Maker? Where is it? I'd like to get to know something, such as bit rate and sample rate of the file I loaded.
A: You can get the information of the file from our program. After it is loaded, please highlight it and then open "Show File Information" item in the "File" menu. In the following small dialog-box, you will read the information of the file, including codec, bit rate and sample rate, etc. If your file has its own Tag information, the information will be shown there, too.
Q2: Where are the other settings? After the program is launched, on the right panel, I can only find some settings, such as bit rate, sample rate and volume. But where are the other items? According to your description, I should have more options such as audio codec. Do I miss something?
A: You are just in "Simple" setting mode presently. ImTOO Audio Maker has two different setting modes, "Simple" and "Advanced". The default one is the "Simple". In this mode, you can only find 4 necessary settings, bit rate, sample rate volume and channel. On the right top of the "Profile" drop-down list, you will find two buttons, "Simple" and "Advanced". If you want to switch to the "Advanced" one, please just click the corresponding button. In the "Advanced" mode, you can set more things, such as "Start Time", "Duration" and Tag information items for MP3 and WMA outputs.
Q3: I found that I can not adjust "Bit Rate" setting for some of the output formats, such as WAV, FLAC and APE. If I select those formats, the small slipping block can not be dragged for bit rate setting in the "Simple" mode; in the "Advanced" mode, I can not find such an item in the list at all. Why?
A: Generally, for most of the media formats, the audio bit rate value will be connected with the output quality. The better quality you want, the larger number you should set for audio bit rate. But the audio codec for APE, WAV and FLAC are all uncompressed, which means the output quality will have no loss in any situation. So the bit rate setting has lost its significance in these media formats. That is why you can not adjust bit rate for these formats in our program.
Q4: I have a media file. I hope that it is in a new name after conversion. But it would not be convenient for me to rename the output files each time after conversion. Is your Audio Maker able to help me with this issue?
A: No problem. But you must enter "Advanced" setting mode in this situation. On the right panel of the main interface, you can find an item called "File name". After your file is loaded, please highlight it in the program. And then, enter the name you want for the final output file in this field and press "Enter" to confirm. After the conversion is done, the content you input for this field will be the name of the output file.
Q5: What about if I convert a file into same format several times saving in the same output folder without setting different output names respectively? Will your program just overwrite the previous conversion? It will be nice if it can save the output files in different titles automatically.
A: Please open "Tools-Preference" and select "Automatically rename as " there. Generally, it is the default option. For example, if your file is called "audio.wma" and you want to convert it to MP3 format, after the first conversion job, the output file will be named as "audio.mp3". If you do the same conversion job again, our program will generate a file, called "audio-0.mp3". And also, if you perform a third conversion, the third output file will be "audio-1.mp3". It means it will produce files in different titles each time in this way.
Q6: What does "Add DirectShow Files" mean? In the early version of Audio Encoder V2.1, I can not find it. What does it do? It seems that it is same with "Add", which just load the files into the program.
A: In this new audio tool, we add such an item in the File menu. It provides a much more stable way to decode Microsoft files. If you load a Microsoft file into the program by DirectShow option, it will be converted better than common way. For example, if you convert a WMA to other formats, the output file would not be played properly in certain situations. But it will not happen if you load it into the program by DirectShow option.
Q7: Where can I found the output files after the conversion or converting?
A: After our software shows "complete" for the conversion or converting job, please click "Open" button which can be found at the bottom of the main interface. You will reach the destination folder directly, from where you will find the output files for your conversion or converting job. Generally, the default destination folder for our program is "C:Temp".
Q8: I have many files to convert. How can I import them simultaneous? It means I want to import many files by one time.
A: You have many ways to load files you want to convert simultaneously. You'd better put all your files into one folder and open it with our software. Multi-selection is available by pressing "CTRL" key and highlighting them at same time. Actually, our software supports "dragging to load". It means you can select all the files you want to convert in the Windows and then drag them into the program. Our software will get them loaded automatically. It is quite convenient. Or you can put all the files you want to convert into one folder and then load them simultaneously by "Add Folder" item in the "File" menu.
Q9: After I make some proper modifications on settings, is it possible to save it as a single profile so that I can use it directly each time?
A: It can be done by the "Save As" function. After you finish the modifications, please click the widget on the right part of the "Profile" list so that you can find "Save As" option and then you will be able to finish other jobs following instructions. After the profile is created, you can delete or re-name it as you like.
Q10: I just want a clip/segment of my video files. Is it possible?
A: Yes. You need set "Start Time" and "Duration" to get the clip you want. They are only shown in the "Advanced" setting mode. First of all, you should highlight the loaded file in the program. And then enter correct values for "Start Time" and "Duration", which can be found on the right panel of the interface. For example, if you want a 3-minute-clip from the 1 minutes of the whole media file, please enter "00:1:00" for "Start Time" and "00:03:00" for duration.
Q11: When I try to convert my video files to WMA format, the program simply and quickly shows "Complete" for the conversion. But the output files are only in a few KB, apparently not playable. Why?
A: Please check the version of your Windows Media Player. If it is not V10.0, please get it upgraded from
www.microsoft.com. It is free.
Q12: I do not like the Tag information that my audio files originally have. Can I edit new information for the output file? Or is it possible that I just simply erase those information items in the conversion?
A: You can modify them in the MP3 and WMA outputs in our program. The default settings will help you retain those original items. If you do not want those information items, please select "False" option for "ID3v1" or "ID3v2" settings on the right panel. If you are pleasant that the output file has new Tag messages, you can enter what you want in the "Summary" column on the right panel. What you entered in those fields will be written into the output file.
Q13: In the Convert part of the program, I click "CDDB" button and hope that I can get CD information. But your program always show me the message that the information of the Audio CD can not be got. Why?
A: Maybe the CDDB remote server which we integrated into the program is busy now. Or the condition of your current Internet access is not very good. Please open "Tools-Preference", and in the "CDDB" tab, you will see the server we offered. It is a free one. If you know other CDDB servers, you can add them into the program by click "Change". And then in the following dialog-box, you will complete the "Add" and "Delete" server job. But the default server which we integrated into the program can not be deleted.
Q14: Can I change the way to name the output file? After converting, I noticed that my output files are in the way that named as "Index + audio track name". I do not like it. Is it possible to get other things, such as Album and Artist, involved?

Q15: After I finish the burning job, I noticed that the interval time between each audio track is just 1 second. Is it possible to adjust it? I hope I can get longer gap time.
A: The waiting time between each track on the final burned disk can be set between 1-5 seconds. The default value for it is 1 second. It is a drop-down list on the right panel of the main interface in the Burn part. In the list, the number from 1-5 is offered.
Q16: Does your program support CD-RW? What about if my RW disk is not an empty one?
A: Of course you can burn an Audio CD with your RW disk. If you put a RW disk which has data on it into the drive and start the burning job, our software will show you a message and tell you that your disk is not empty. And in the dialog-box, it provides the option to erase the disk. So you can get your RW disk erased directly by our program and then use it to finish burning job. And also, in the Action menu, you can find the item to erase your RW disk, too.
Q17: Is it possible that my PC is automatically turned down after the job I want is done? I do not like just sitting in front of the PC and watching it.
A: ImTOO Audio Maker offers you such an option. In the "Tools" menu, there is an item called "After work". And you can find 5 different sub-items there. The default one is "No Action". If you like, you can select whether the PC is shut down or stand by after the conversion or converting job is done. It is not available in the burning part because you must manually confirm the burning job is over at the end of the burning process.
